REPORT OF A ARREST

City — officer reported that Shaun Loveday age 28 of Ely was arrested for D.U.I. and driving with license suspended.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

City — the area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Officer reported that the juvenile operating the vehicle was not located, but will be contacted later.

Officer reported that Ali Bybee a juvenile of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Pennsylvania Ave. Due to excessive speed she lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll. A passenger in the vehicle was taken to ER by ambulance. Investigation into the accident continues.

City — officer located a small child that was in the roadway. Officer located the parent of the child who thought he was playing in the yard.

City — officer contacted the operator and advised no crime had occurred.

City — officer located loud music coming from a residence. The occupant was contacted and advised to turn the music down.

Reporting party stated that he had been threatened by a individual. Officer is attempting to contact the individual making the threats.

OCTOBER 12, 2012

REPORT OF A PUBLIC NUISANCE

City — officer contacted the occupant of the residence and advised him to clean up the trash.

REPORT OF A SPEEDING VEHICLE

City — officer contacted the manager of the business and advised him of the complaint about his drivers. He indicated he would take care of the problem.

REPORT OF FOUND BLASTING CAPS

Officer reported that he collected the container and it was full of rocks and dirt.

Officer reported that Gregory T. Irby age 29 of McGill was arrested on a Ely Municipal and Justice Court warrant.

REPORT OF UNWANTED TEXT MESSAGES

City — reporting party stated that she was receiving unwanted text messages from a individual. The incident was documented.

Shange Zhang of Salt Lake City, UT was operating a vehicle traveling on US 6 when he stuck a deer. A report was completed.

City — officer contacted a hitchhiker and reported that no crime had occurred.

City — officer reported that Barbara Hamilton-Carter of McGill collided with a light pole while operating a vehicle in a private parking lot. A report was completed.

City — officer contacted the individuals involved who were arguing over property. One of the individuals involved was allowed to remove his property and he then left the area.

City — officer contacted the residence where the call had come from and reported that it was a child playing with the phone.

City — officer reported that during the high school football game someone had broken into the locker room and stolen several items from the opposing team. Officers were able to identify the juveniles involved. They were detained and transported to the Elko Detention Center.

OCTOBER 13, 2012

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE

City — officer located the disturbance which was a individual banging on the door to a local business. Officer identified the individual as Gaylynn S. Coatney age 50 of Ely she was arrested for disturbing the peace.

REPORT OF A BARKING DOG

City — officer located the dog and contacted the owner. The owner of the dog was identified as Shaun Loveday. He was issued a citation for barking dog.

REPORT OF A ARREST

City — officer reported that David W.Grapes age 54 of Ely was arrested for D.U.I. driving the wrong way on a one way street and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.

REPORT OF A FIGHT

City — officer received a report of a fight that had occurred at a local business establishment During the officers investigation Benji Delgrande of Ely was issued a citation for battery.

REPORT OF A ARREST

City — officer reported that Donica Herring age 35 of Ely was arrested for D.U.I. and driving left of center.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM

City — officer located several juveniles who were out past the hours of curfew. They were detained and later released to their parents.

REPORT OF A DEATH

City — officers received a report of a body that had been located at Steptoe Park. When officers arrived they located a female laying on the grass deceased. She was identified as Wendie S. Curtis age 54 of Ely. The Deceased was transported to the Clark County Coroners Office to determine the cause of death. Investigation into this matter continues.

City — officers reported that a owl had been caught in a soccer net. The report was given to N. N.D.O.W.

The area was patrolled, but no ATV’s were located.

City — the operator of the vehicle was contacted and a warning was issued about his driving behavior.

Officer contacted the individuals who were hitchhiking through the area. No crime had occurred.

City — officer contacted the individual who was part of the Ghost Train presentation. He had fired several blanks to scare the passengers.

City — officer reported that it turned out to be a prank conducted by a family member.

City — reporting party stated that he had been threatened by someone calling his telephone. The incident was documented.

City — officer received a report of a fight that had occurred at a local business establishment. Officer contacted one of the parties involved, but the others had left the area. No action was taken.

City — officer received a report of a individual making threats towards several people. The area was patrolled, and the individual was located. He was identified as Brandon Hargis of Ely. Hargis was detained for civil protective custody.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

City — reporting party thought someone was in her home. The residence was checked and no one was located.

REPORT OF A ALARM

False alarm.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT

City — officer contacted the individual who needed medical assistance. She was taken to E.R. by the responding officers.

REPORT OF MISSING PROPERTY

Reporting party stated that she rented a home to a individual and when the renter moved out some property belonging to the reporting party was missing. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK

The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report was given to Ely BLM.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE

City — officer received a report of a domestic disturbance that had taken place. During the officers investigation Gerald Barela age 40 of Ely was arrested. Barela was arrested for domestic battery causing substantial bodily harm, child abuse, and intimidating a public officer. Barrela is accused of battering a family member.

REPORT OF A DOG BITE

Officer received a report of a dog that had bitten a individual. The owner of the dog stated that the dog had broken its restraint and bitten a individual that was visiting him at his home. The individual received medical treatment at E.R.

City — reporting party stated that a elderly female had left her laundry at the laundry mat. Officers are attempting to locate the owner of the laundry.

City — reporting party stated that several people had been knocking on her door. Officers patrolled the area, but no one was located.
